Ultrasound Scanning
Ultrasound scanning is a safe non invasive procedure that requires no sedation for your bitch.
As a level 2 trained sonographer, Jacquie has years of experience dealing with all types of dogs and can help nervous bitches feel at ease.
Scans are done on our premises, the most of which, are conducted with the bitch in a standing position, being more comfortable for her.
Scanning can take place any time after day 28, from the last mating, however, we advise scanning from days 32-35 for optimum results. A small amount of water based gel is used to ensure a clear image is achieved.
Please Note: To get a clear scan image, it may be necessary, on some breeds, for a small amount of hair to be clipped from the bitches under belly, however this is always done with the owners permission.

We use modern veterinary grade scanners and have the ability to email you a picture of your bitch's scan, upon request.

- It can be difficult to accurately count numbers due to the anatomy of the bitch
- The embryo's can often be hidden and therefore missed.
- Occasionally bitch's can absorb puppies up to the 42nd day of pregnancy, therefore effecting the numbers
